"Welcome to the world of Barbara Fletcher, who creates
molded-paper sculptures that inhabit a world populated by a menagerie of whimsical wildlife and surreal sea creatures. Fletcher, who lives in Lowell's artist-oriented Appleton Mills apartments and has worked for more than five years out of the nearby Western Avenue studios, creates hand-painted pieces ranging from small one-of-a-kind ornaments to wall hangings to larger installations. The colorful works reflect influences ranging from Dutch artist Hieronymous Bosch to pop art and cartoons."
